  • ZOTAC MAG -- How will it work for a carpc?

I tried searching for ZOTAC and ZOTAC MAG, but all I could find were reviews of the zotac ION mobo, so I figured I'd post for the first time (blast! I like lurking )

I'm new to this, but I want to drop a carPC that is used for only NAV and music with possible bluetooth phone integration for handsfree calling (that's not that important though) and I'm wondering how the Zotac MAG booksize would work as a drop-in solution with a patriot SSD replacing the internal 160 GB laptop drive and a 7" lilliput screen in my double din slot.

I think as far as statistics go, it will work fine, I've used one before too, and it seems pretty zippy for a little atom processor, I'm just not sure if there's something I'm not considering that would make it unsuitable for a carpc. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

It should be fine. Looks to just be their ION motherboard pre-installed in their own case. I would imagine any posts relating to their ION MB could be applied to this bare-bone system as well.

The only difference I can think of may be that could be a trimmed down version of the retail board. For example, there's no need for a PCIe slot so that can be removed to cut down board size.
