  • Radio no sound 2002 suburban?

    - I have a LS 2002 suburban 2wd "no" onstar, "no" bose
    - Amp is located behind the glove box

Installed a Sony radio and no sound from the speakers. The radio is connected with an adapter plug from a parts store. There is some dicussion about connecting the misteries pink wire that I cannot seem to find. There is a purple wire going to pin "11" which has no wire to it on the radio side. Pin "11" is associated with "amp sense" on some pin diagrams. I tried appling 12 volts to the pin "11" but still no sound. Appreciate any help.

    Thanks

is the factory amp expecting a high level signal, or a low level signal?

and fyi: this forum is primarily for installing computers in cars, so audio specific advise is a little on the slim side(though, we try to help where we can).

Low or high level don't know.

low level would use the rca connections on the headunit, high level would use the speaker connections.

if the amp is expecting a high level signal, and you are trying to use the rca's, this can be one of the many culprits, otherwise, it might be connected wrong..

The factory amp has wires only. So I guess that is high level.

did the adapter have any rca's on it? if not, then it is definitely high level inputs.
