Without knowing what screen you're asking about, how is anyone supposed to answer that question?

You might find some answers here: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/advfaq.php

The two most popular are RideRunner, which is free (as in beer, not freedom). The other is Centrafuse, which is commercial.

          and open mobile.. which rocks
          http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/openmobile/

Really i'd reccomend just taking a peek here for front end choices (which is the term used for the menu you are refering to)

ginowalter - I was where you were a couple weeks ago. The menu driven system you are talking about is called a front end. There are many available, some free and some cost under $100. I set up an old computer just so I could test which front end. Centrafuse has a 30 day demo so you can try without buying.

I have read many threads on which one to get. There is not right answer so I suggest that you download them and try them out to see if you like it. If you do, then start searching the forums and reading all you can to make sure you understand the software limitations.

I for one am really leaning toward OpenMobile as a FE and am anticipating the .7 release.
The best forum start place is here but damned if I could find it. I had spent several weeks on the forum before finding it.

Here's an idea. Hear me out on this...

Instead of asking what everyone ELSE uses for software, why don't you do some rudimentary digging and see what options are available. Some of them are mentioned in this thread.
You can then try those options out to see if you like them and they work the way that suits you best. Even the commercial front-ends have a trial version.

If you want to make a decision based on what everyone else does and be that lemming, that's up to you. It's hardly the best way to make a decision, at least in my opinion.

what they said any front end worth looking at is either free, or has a no-cost-demo. there is nothing that makes any front end universally the best each work for different people.

                    Believe me...
The project you are about to undertake is a HUGE time and money sink. Saving time simply isn't in the equation.

Spend the time and do it properly, or in this case the way you want it.
