  • Will a 240watt amp power....

Just bought 2 Sony Explod 12" Subs for 50 quid brand new

However they came with a 240watt Amp will this power them safely? Not expecting massive high end bass just enough bass to fill my van

    Thanks
    James

yes, they will work, just expect the subs to play a little 'loose'. ie: on a song like Ushers "Yeah", the subs will 'thwomp' more then they will 'bump'. this is because the lower amount of power has less force to control the subs movements.

Will a 2000watt amp be too much or be perfect for them?

        Thanks

I think it will be much for these. I usually go with the power advised by the company. If 240 watt can do this ob nicely then 2000watt will be too much. Its my point and don't know whether others will agree with it or not. Let them suggest.

it is slightly worse power-wise then the one you currently have.

but always be careful with used electronics-- unless they are very cheap, or you have heard them working in person, don't buy..

those subs box says they will take 350w rms. just look for a amp with a rms rating that matches that.
