  • Nexus 7 install help?!

I've finally decided to do a tablet install, but have a few questions.
I have the 2013 nexus 7 tablet, and have a guy who can build a fiberglass dash similar to the "soundman" iPad mini magnetic flush mount kits.

Couple problems in having-I originally wanted to do a wired USB to charge and a wire headphone to RCA for audio, however the tablets USB and headphone jacks are on opposite sides makin a slide in/dock is impossible.

So new idea is all wireless.
The nexus 7 has a built in ability to use a wireless charging mat to charge-I'm thinking of building one into the dash so when the tablet gets laid into the magnetic dock it starts to charge.

As far as audio-this is where I need a little help!
I know they have Bluetooth head units however, I want to run just the tablet down to an eq user the dash then the eq to my amps.
My problem is finding something that can receive Bluetooth audio and convert it to RCA output to feed my eq-that can be ran with a 12v system (any type of cigarette plug adapter I can hack into and make powered by 12v)

My other idea is if it can slide into just the USB to charge-AND receive audio out the USB port but I'm not sure that's possible or what I'd need to get?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
Tips and hints on anything is also very welcome. This is my first tablet install and I'm still reading through a lot of builds

Wansnt the audio out over usb trick to use a usb dac...there are a few around for $50.the mp3car store offers a few also i believe.
As for bluetooth audio i use a belkin one for a while.audio seemed fine but it wouldnt auto connect.if you use a app called tasker or trigger is another (doesnt require root) to auto conncet to the stupid belkin via charging status or via a nfc tag on the dock..i would want to use qi charging as it would be very neat..... but its a bit slow and could present problems...mabee a usb powered usb hub and a dac is a good way to go....ie dock the nexus.... turn key...nexus starts to charge and turns on....connects to the usb dac and your away.....bluetooth would be as simple also....look for bluetooth to 3.5mm.thats a good start point but skipp anything under $50 it will be crap...ohh check the store here too

I have the same tablet, wireless charging is slow and won't keep up with use (e.g it will lose charge when you use it even when its charging).

Im currently working on my nexus 7 install, using the USBROM setup to allow charging + USB DAC audio output. Happy so far with that part of it, just need to hook in some ground loop isolators and finish the mounting of the actual tablet

Can you explain how to do that?
Link to the part I'd need would be great!!

I read a little about it but got lost in the technical Mumbo jumbo with custom Roms and what not

I don't know enough to do that without a pretty good step by step lol.

            I appreciate the help!!

And good to know about the wireless charging-guess I won't go that route!

With the wireless charging...if you were to leave the tablet in the car....charging always...unless you were driving for over 10 hrs per day im assuming the tablet probably wont go flat.now the battery thats feeding the wireless charger might have a hard time with the constaint drain...say 1.5amp as i believe the qi charging only outputs under 1 amp i added the extra to allow for the wasted power the charger uses... anyway its more of a trickle charger..but would that not be better for the battery?im my experience batterys die from a constaint full state...now if you daily commute is only 1 -2hrs does the fact that the tablet looses some charge really matter?
