  • ooking to upgrade my audi concert Gen II radio

I currently Have a 2005 Audi A3 with the Audi Concert gen II radio in it and I am looking to buy a JVC (Model:KDR650) to replace it. I am currently away so i cant measure the radio on the car.
I have tried to Google it to see if i can find the measurements/dimensions but could not find any.

    The JVC radio Dimensions are:
    Height: 2-1/8"
    Width: 7-1/4"
    Depth: 6-1/4"

Does anyone know if this will fit into the slot for my current radio &/or if it is compatible?
link to JVC radioIm looking at buying:

Looks like your Audi has a single din head unit. That's good news since most most modern cars have either double din units or nonstandard units. Yes, it should fit just fine. You'll have to take it out and see if you can securely attach it, though. It seems car manufacturers hate making cars with easy-to-upgrade sound systems.

The electrical plug in the back will almost certainly NOT be compatible. You'll be lucky if the plug even fits, it probably won't. And even if it does, it will almost certainly have a different wire configuration, making it unusable.

The aftermarket head unit will likely come with a wiring harness that fits into the plug in the back of the kenwood unit. The other side of the harness will just be stripped wires. You'll need to buy another harness specific to your car audio system that will connect to the plug coming out of your car. Then you will have to crimp the wires of your kenwood harness to the wires of your aftermarket audi-compatible harness.

Kenwood Head Unit <-- kenwood harness plug -- kenwood harness wires >CRIMP< audi aftermarket harness wires -- audi aftermarket harness plug <-- Audi OEM head unit plug.
