  • Laptop HD Question

Does anyone know if there is an adapter available that plugs into the 2.5" HD bay of a laptop computer and allows you to connect two hard drives simultaneously? My girlfriend's hard drive is crappin out and i'm gunna need to duplicate her data onto a new drive when it gets here.

    Thanks,
    -Josh

Some ibm thinkpad can have 2 hdd's connected at the same time.

USB cases for laptop hd's are really cheap, so that might be the road to take instead of messing with cables and risk the bus of a laptop.

I dont think 2 headed laptop HDD cable exist...Ill like to have one anyway

If USB HDD is not right for you then you can just get a 3.5" to 2.5" converter and use your desktop to backup all the data.

Yea, I was thinking of using the ide converter but was wonderin if there were any other ways. I guess i'll just do that since i'm probly only going to need to do this once and those things only cost between like $10-$20.

        Thanks anyway guys,

If it's stuck, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway

I thought there is a 44-pin IDE cable with connections for 2 laptop(SFF) HDDs like their 40-pin equivalent for desktop HDDs.
