    Im sure this is a noob question since i am a noob I wanted to build a carputer and wanted to know if there were any ways to keep the carputer on 24/7 without killing the battery.

    Nope, unless your car was running 24/7. That or you got an extra powerful battery for it.

      or get some kind of plug in system to run off the mains when u park it. u'd need an invertor from the mains to 12v to power the puter.

        I use an automatic car battery charger when the car is in the garage and I'm playing around, installing wares, defragging, whatever... but dream of someday having some kind of inductive charger that sits on the floor and charges when I park it in the right spot in garage. I did a search for electric car chargers, but they were way too expensive!

          so basically when i turn off the car the computer will power off automatically or would i need to power it down myself? (assuming i plug it into the 12v cigarette adapter (yea that may be weak tho))

            I think you need to do a bit more reading on how it all works (judging by the quote above).

              yes, with an Opus it will be done for you....do a search for Opus. It is a great product, but you need to read up on it.
