Hello Im new here, yet i have been reading up on the mp3car scene for about 6 months so i kinda know whats up....
And yes i DID use the SEARCH button but to no luck

ok this is what i wanted to do... i have an Acura CL - Bose Steoro that has a input for the cd changer that i can change so it is RCA cables, but it also has an external amp to power the factory speakers,- it also have volume controls on the steiring wheel. and the area where the radio is now is about 7-8" wide and about 4-5" tall

with that in mind i was going to go for
Epia m10000 for the mother board
    opus for power
    lillnput for the lcd (touch)

but i see on miniitx's site there is a "VIA EPIA TC 10000 1Ghz Motherboard with Onboard DC-DC Converter" and you can get the bundle deal with External 60W Universal 12V PSU and Power Lead so my 1st question is is the TC 10000 going to be a good deal? 149euro for everything sounds good to me
will this bundle deal be good for a hdd and a dvd drive and some usb stuff lcd and is it all i need to buy to power everything?

and has anyone got in to an accedent becouse they were using there carpc?

    Thanks for all the help.

The best way to go IMO is a CARNETIX CNX-P1260 (http://www.carnetix.com/CNXP1260.html) + TC 10000.
This will give you 60W (12V - 5A regulated) plus all the features an OPUS has and more for just $85. Use an 2.5" hdd and a slim DVD and you'll be ok.

    I hope I helped.

    Cheers./

Go here and download the TC 10000 manual :

          http://www.viaembedded.com/product/D...herboardId=201

At the end of the manual there is a table which states that the onboard DC-DC PSU can cope with a 3.5" hdd and a desktop dvd drive (very interesting)

                wassup,

yea i'm a member over there too. my username is UMCP.

                i have a 2nd gen cl.

i saw the screen in the pocket but i think that only that model panasonic that he used fits. it would be cool if u tried to do a vga in there. i didn't want to void my warranty by cutting into the car.

i bought a lilliput ts and used plexiglass to mount it. the frame is bondoed to the plexiglass.

it was hard to find a match for the dash color but i got my hands on some black vinyl and its a pretty good match, less sanding for me.

pics coming soon. i'm soo busy working to pay for this thing.

Do you think the TC dc / dc convertor will keep the computer on while cranking?

nope, the tc dc/dc converter isnt the bit that needs to survive cranking. The carnetix/opus is the bit u need to worry about, and yes, the carnetix and opus both survive cranking.
If you use the carnetix 1260 psu, the tc10000 mobo then cranking should not be a problem. I intend on doing the same very soon.
