  • Intergrating Pioneer DVD satnav

Anyone know if it would be possible to intergrate a Pioneer DVD satnav package (clicky) into a carputer, so I could use the screen and dvd drive for both?

    Looking mainly at the AVIC990HVT-II

You can probably hook the computer up to the screen via RCA inputs, but the resolutions gonna suck. You won't be able to get the DVD drive to work for both.

Why would the resolution be bad?

Because computers run at resolutions MUCH higher than that of regular TV's. That alpine screen is more like a TV screen than it is a computer screen. If you have ever tried to hook your computer upto a TV with S-Video, you will have noticed how hard it is to read anything.
