  • Help me identify this 1394/USB mobo adapter

Okay I've been searching for nearly an hour now... I've seen several folks expand their onboard USB capability of the M10000 by using this paticular cable plugged directly off the mobo 1394 firewire ports, as seen HERE in another members ride.

Can anybody provide a link or source to this unit?

    Thanks in advance...

by the looks of the cords, and this thing i found on ebay, it looks like that usb port thing *should* come with the board... *shrug* : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW

Ahhhh.... That might explain some things. I bought my M10000 used and got nothing more than the board.

Anybody know if these can be obtained individually?

Yup it comes with it. Try looking on eBay or other sites, someone might be selling it by itself.

You could try to find someone on here who isn't using it either and buy it from them.

My 'adapter' was damaged (don't ask), and I need a new one as well, but I don't want to order it from oversees, is there any place in the US which sells these? I can't believe that I can't use a regular USB header adapter, not sure why VIA would do this. Thanks!

Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
                How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.
