  • PCMCIA Adaptor?

I have a PCI expansion in my car pc but the case is so small you will never get a card in there.

I have a Verizon Internet card that fits in a PCMCIA slot. Do the make a USB adaptor for some thing like this?

    Thanks.

I'm not familiar with a Verizon Internet card, what exactly is it? Is it just a wifi (802.11) adaptor? Or does it somehow use cellular signals to connect to the internet?

If it's just a wifi adaptor, you'd be better off to get a new usb wifi device as I don't think I've heard of a pcmcia -> usb adaptor.

I had the same problem and the only solution that I can find is http://www.junxion.com/product/ but's it's pricey at $600 http://www.mobilitysavings.com/Catal...7_products.htm

Apparently Kyocera is coming out with a similar box in a couple of months. Also, GTran wireless is supposed to have a USB based adapter, but I can't find anything on it.

I went with the Junxion box.

I'm not sure about the height of your case, but a low profile PCI card may well fit if you remove its metal bracket and drill a hole for the antenna connector in the back instead. I have a wifi card in my 65mm high Morex case.

But there is a PCI adaptor for this correct? If that's the case then I'll get a different case!

                I don't know.

Another option is to get a VIA MII-series mainboard. They have a PCMCIA slot.
