Umm...let's see...if I have properly deciphered your message, the PC powers on when you set the key to accessory or on, but shuts off when you crank the engine. Sounds like you need larger gauge wire from the battery to the power supply.

"12 and ing"? Huh? Can you be a bit more descriptive?

Stock stereo wires are going to be a bit small for this power supply, for +12V and ground you REALLY want to run larger-gauge wire (around 10ga) to the battery.

Go ahead and use the ignition lead from the old stereo, but definitely get larger-gauge power cables run to the battery. There's likely too much voltage drop on the smaller gauge stock cables when you crank the engine, that's why the power supply is cutting out.

Also, in my car, when you crank the engine, the power to the radio is cut anyway. I agree that you need the power cable run directly from the battery.

Has the interference problem gone away with the new wiring as well?

Try connecting the amplifier, PC and monitor to the same grounding point.
