  • Hey! New Here! Looks like a pretty neat site to get ideas for My First Car!

Hey Guys and Girls! My name is Erik and I live in Illinois. I just turned 16 and I just received my first car, a Black 1995 Mercury Tracer Trio. It has the sunroof, spoiler, etc... It was my grandpa's car who just passed away in mid-April. He didn't drive much and when he did it was only to pick my cousin up from school or to drive 15 miles to get cigarettes so that car only has 55,000 miles on it. Anyway, I was hoping you guys could help me with some ideas to "trick" this car out a little bit with some neat ideas. I will get pics up here real soon. Thanks for reading and Nice Meeting You!

    Erik

lol, welcome aboard m8. You will find alot of people here take the micky (****,joke) which in my view make these forums what they are (the best).. My first car had a speedo that went sidewards and even had a choke I had to use a cloths peg on to hold it out ! Theres plenty ideas for you to pimp your new ride on here. I keep getting suprised with the ideas people come up with. Dont be afraid to ask any questions you want, u might get flamed but in the end the way I look at it, if your asking a question.. chances are someone else will want to know he answer as well. I've been here over a year now, on my 3rd install and I know I couldnt have got this far without the help of these forums. The best help is the search button on here, I use it everyday.

You drove that! That's a superb car to own I think, I'd like one, not for everyday use, but just to take it out once in a while, and keeping it in mint condition!
                  You still have it?

Was it the one with the 1 litre engine? Don't know for sure, but it doesn't quite look like the ordinary Viva, didn't those Oldsmobiles have rounded head lights?
                  Renault Megane...the OEM look

hmm seemed to of hijacked the thread.. opps.. <slap>CdRsKuLL</slap>
It was a 1.3E (what ever the E stood for).. sadly it went to car heaven.. but not before me and my m8 ripped the engine out and stuck it in his ex British telecom bedford van..(with matress in the back). at least I think it was.. In them days u could pull a engine out but just removing about 5 wires.. and afew bolts of course. them were the days :-).. Rustyboxx is still enjoying them days ;-p

Hehehe, I guess it's ok we threadjacked the thread, well until he posts some pics of his car anyway...

The E was the last model of a Viva, you were lucky . The normal Viva's had a 1.0 engine if I remember correctly.

still offtopic, now we know where you started, from an 1.3 Oldsmobile Viva E, and ended up with a ST220 Mondeo, right after a convertible M3. Pretty impressive if you ask me... What other cars were there between, the Viva and the M3?
