  • carputer as gauges

I have a diesel truck and have been looking into carputers for awhile now. I would like to be able to have the carputer display things such as boost, EGTs, and fuel pressure. Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing? I know that some aftermarket tuning boxes can dispay these on a small lcd, but I want to do it on a computer.

    Thanks,

    Nick

        Thanks,

Excellent question and exactly what I am interested in as I have an 03 3500 ram CTD. The problem with the OBDII stuff is that OBDII doesn't read EGT, boost (well not in a way usable for us) or fuel pressure. We would have to add the sending units as if we were using aftermarket electrical gauges and tie these into the carputer. No clue on how to do that yet though, hopefully someone here does. I would assume it would be roughly the same programming/hardware used for any electrical gauge though, just a different calibration and skin on the gauge on the screen.
