  • How to connect M1-ATX to car battery?

Hi everyone. Sorry if this is a repeat, I couldn't find an answer. I'm looking for a explicit and complete guide on how exactly to connect power shutdown controllers to the car battery and ignition. I have a lot of diagrams and basic knowledge of mechanics but I feel like I'm a little out of my league here. I have a 2004 Mazda 6 and an M1-ATX 90 Watt Smart Automotive Power Supply. When it says connect to the battery, where exactly does it mean? Directly to the posts, spliced off the wires? is there somewhere in the circuit to do this? Any how-to information would be greatly appreciated. Pictures even more appreciated. Thanks!

    rob.

It means to connect to a hot lead from the battery.
You could run a dedicated line straight from the battery post to the PSU (with a fuse in there, of course). You could also run an always-hot line from the fuse block, as well. You could also splice into an existing hot line that's part of an existing circuit, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

If you are unsure go right to the post. There should be a nut or bolt u can losen and then attach to. And make SURE you have a fuse inline.
