  • Front Mic Input Not Working

    I can't seem to get my front panel mic to work. I have a Travla C134 case and a VIA SP13000 MoBo. I have connected the Mic input to pin 1, Ground to pin 2, and Mic power to pin 3, per the instructions. My rear mic input works fine. I have tried the mixing panel and have reconnected the pins for the mic 3 time now.

    Any ideas?

    I ran into a problem wiring the front panel audio. I need the blue and green rear panel audio connectors to provide audio for my 4-channel car audio amp and would like the front audio out and mic to work. I have a Travla C134 case and VIA SP13000 motherboard.

    Hereís the wires:

    Ret-L
    R-Out
    L-Out

    Ret-R
    Mic-Pwr
    Ground
    Mic-In

    Motherboard Pins

    1 FRNMIC
    2 AGND
    3 MIC BIAS
    4 +5V AUDIO
    5 LINE OUT R
    6 NEXT R
    7 NC
    8 KEY
    9 LINE OUT L
    10 NEXT L

      I just upgraded to the SP13000 from the M10K...I want to say that the manual states you can't use both front and rear at the same time...I'll check it out later if I get a chance.

        I was able to get front & rear audio output (didn’t check line-out for surround sound) and it seemed to work. I did NOT get any Mic from the front panel, only the rear mic worked when I did a mic check. I tried the mic boost and several of the mixer controls to see if I could get it working. No luck. Any ideas?

        Front Panel -> Motherboard Pins

        Mic-In -> 1. FRNMIC
        Ground -> 2. AGND
        Mic-Pwr -> 3. MIC BIAS
        -------------4. +5V AUDIO
        R-Out -> 5. LINE OUT R
        Ret-R -> 6. NEXT R
        -------------7. NC
        ------------- 8. KEY
        L-Out -> 9. LINE OUT L
        Ret-L ->10. NEXT L

          Problem Solved

          Mic working--problem solved! This is the correct wiring for this board. The problem is you MUST use the VIA sound driver/mixer to activate the front mic.
