    well you need 2 cables.. the IDE and the power which is pretty much the floppy connector

        link what? the cable? One of them comes w/ your motherboard and it hooks up along with the hard drive.. and the power is already on your power supply

          hmmm. I don't think the cable come with my mobo, the one come with the mobo is bigger than the my slot load dvd, and the slot load dvd doesn't has a power to plug it either, just a cable. But I don't know which one. let me try to take a pix.

              Ok. The big one is a regular IDE cable. The one on the drive is called a JAE 50 pin that is used by laptops for its size. That connector contains power and IDE cabling. You need an adaptor. I got mine from eBay, but they sell them here. It is #9 on best seller list. This is the link for Mp3Car store product. The pictures are of the one I bought and you can see that it takes the one small connector and converts it to a large regular IDE cable, and a small power cable, and an analog audio cable (don't even need with computers nowadays).



              Those aren't my pics if you cant tell. Got them from eBay.

                o damn.. I forgot about that little thing.. yeah sorry, when I got my slot load drive right next to it they and one of these so I assumed I needed it and I was right..lol

                    thanks for all helping guys. And I have one more question:? Do you think is it positive for putting your computer in the trunk and put this drive under the monitor like this ? ( by using extend cable )

                      Why not just get a housing with a usb out
