which board is better for an Opus 150?

  • which board is better for an Opus 150?

    i'am in the process of building a carputer
    but i don't which board to go with

    i have an old HP P3 370 mother board...

    and

    Asus P4 478 mother @ 1.5ghz

    which of these boards require more power from the opus


    and work better with an opus 150?




    i really would appreciate any help...

    The HP will use much less power than the Asus. Chances are the Asus uses a P4 with a Prescott core, which is not recommended for a carputer due to its high heat and power usage. Even if it doesn't have the Prescott core (I'm not 100% sure on the 1.8ghz) , it's still going to use more than a socket 370. Using a less powerful motherbaord and CPU combo will free up some power from the Opus, allowing you to power stuff like your monitor, GPS, USB stuff, etc. Hope this helps.

      I'm not sure if this matters but Asus has integrated sound...
