      A) can xp even run on 64 mb ram, if not, then your going to be paying more for more ram
      B)no shutdown controller?
C)USB 1.1? 2.0 is what most people want for higher speed transfers so any external hd will be slow

i say build your own. you get the satisfaction of doing it yourself

Yes, but 256MB or more is recommended.

Both valid points. USB 1.1 sucks for pretty much anything except a printer.

Truer words have never been spoken. Well, maybe they have, but this is a really good point.

You think that a car computer needs to be expensive.
If you've got RAM lying around, you probably have other PC parts lying around. What's preventing you from using those to build a carPC. I can tell you that that CarKlub overpriced unit is nothing you couldn't scrounge up for a lot cheaper through other sources.

You can take a PIII board that has onboard video & sound with RAM and a spare hard drive, purchase a DC-DC like the M2ATX or the Opus 150w power supply and you've got the bulk of the hardware needed.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
