  • newb advise on E36 GPS

I have an E36 M3, I got a 7" farenheit in the dash hooked up to a dvd player in the globebox....I wanted to add a GPS but it seems like there is nothing out there with RCA output....my screen is RCA not VGA ..........I do have an older very slim laptop at home that I can install in the trunk, but it does not have an RCA output...I know that i can buy a scan converter, but will the quality suck? I have microsoft streets and trips with the gps receiver....

You must realize that we're putting a GPS receiver connected to a computer that's providing a VGA signal to a screen.
There are GPS standalone units that will output composite (RCA) video. You'll have an external control module for the GPS functions, as well.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.
