  • The best frontend for linux

    Hello all!

I've been using a computer in my car with debian inside (via epia mini itx and lilliput touchscreen 7"), I hadn't any front end just icons on the desktop.

Now I'v build the last ubuntu on it, and I'm looking for the best front end for linux, I've seen a lots of things and I'm really lost. I'm also looking for the most used software, for the community support.

I was using wine to emulate a win32 GPS software, I'll look what's the best solution but first I need a good frontend.

    Cheers.

There are a couple reasons for that:
        - There are very few front-ends for linux, primarily because there is no GPS navigation app for linux currently.
        - There is bno "best" anything. "best" is subjective, so you need to determine what is "best" for you and your setup.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
        How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Okey thanks you for your reply. For the gps software I use wine as emulator, and it works well, so this is not a real problem for me.

for me, a good front-end must be easy to use and have nice design.

          thanks
