no - please read this thread: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=78795

    specifically this post: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...19&postcount=6

btw - you can do DVD and navigation with a CarPC...no need to keep your kenwood.

Hmmm, where is this flip-out deck that is reliable as this guy's Kenwood???

I haven't seen one, yet. Lilliput is junk, forum store's isn't fully motorized, like the Kenwood and I don't see another one out there.

I've given up on the idea of a CarPC, there way too many questions and not enough answers.

dj - this is still very much a hobbiest venture.

if you're not cool with needing to put the time into the research that a CarPC will require, I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

We can help you if you do decide you want to put forth the effort.

But please don't troll this forum and bash CarPCs just because they don't fit your needs precisely.

The PC that's been running in my car has been running flawlessly for over 2 years and works better than most typical Car Stereo head units out there...so well in fact, the car is a two time world champion in audio competitions.

So please, before you go and bash CarPCs any more, do some research.

If you're just wanting a plug-and-play solution, look elsewhere or be prepared to spend a bit more money than what you have set forth elsewhere on this forum.

I'm gonna toss a couple cents into this pot.....

I really don't understand how or why people make the lack of a reliable motorized VGA touchscreen a deal-breaker for a vehicle PC project.
As far as I'm concerned, the flip-out screens currently available have a significant number of drawbacks:
1 - They're all ugly as sin, save for the 6" double-DIN offered at DigitalWW.
2 - They're too deep for quality fitment. Someone modded a 700IDT to reduce teh depth, but you shouldn't have to mod something like that to make it look right.
3 - They are all notoriously unreliable. Someone already mentioned this.
4 - They scream out "EXPENSIVE AFTERMARKET HARDWARE! STEAL ME!"
          5 - It's just bling.

Nobody says you need an in-dash screen, though. You can have an external screen (such as the 15" LCD that currently resides on my floorboard). No, it doesn't look as cool, but it does the job.

My original concept was to use an in-dash screen (namely, the 700IDT), and I have since changed my tune, primarily for the ugliness and the lack of reliability. But the "steal me" factor ranks up there.
Frankly, a molded-in screen is the best-looking, most theft-proof, most reliable solution, hands down.
