  • VGA to COMPOSITE video incompatible?

I just attached a VGA splitter and bought a wire that has VGA on one and and s-video (yellow pin) on the other end, but the screen still shows no signal, Have cross check the VGA splitter is working fine. Some one told me this combo is not compatible, I need to add another convert box.

    Any solution or suggestions?

    Thanks

You need a device called a scan converter to make VGA compatible with composite unless your video card supports TV out.

        heres a start:
        http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-R.../dp/B001NXDQEK

        or the google search results:

just be warned-- these converters take certain things out of the picture to get it to fit the composite signal, so you WILL loose clarity(like text, some picture clarity).

i have read before that certain adapters can adjust for it slightly, but don't recall seeing a list of ones that do...

i also tried making a thread a while back to try to get some help on how much i have to pay for a good adapter, and what the picture quality difference between a $15, and $150 adapter is, but didn't really get any responses...

Thanks for the info, I will research more on this.

I have the screen installed but its a waste at the moment,Now the only choice seems is this converter

This is the one i had ordered waiting for it to arrive.

          Lets see how it goes.

That actually looks pretty good. I am guessint though that it will not look good when having to use view stuff with font. Other then that, for movie purposes and visuals it looks good.

I have the startech device on the second post, it's pretty good, since it accepts my tablet's 1400x1050 resolution and beyond. It also saves settings even if the power is removed, and I don't need to adjust anything (borders, overscan, etc.).

Thanks for the pictures, what sunvisors did you use? How do they work for you? There's so many options on ebay...where did you get yours? Thanks.

I missed this thread. I bought the Startech device you mentioned above. Very good. One of the difference is that some devices just accept 1024x768 input tops. The Startech can go very high indeed, and it scales nicely to composite, as far as I can tell. There's some pictures of it in my Sequoia thread.

I sourced the screen from the local market here in INDIA, It was around than 50$ so no brand name as such. But works fine for me.
