  • Changing head unit Ford Fiesta mk6

If this is a duplicate post I am sorry.

    Hey,

I am completely new to all this! I have a Ford Fiesta MK6 with the double din head unit which is in three sections like this:

I was going to get this to replace the radio bezel as I want to keep the original if i decide to sell the car etc:

And then get one of these to convert it to two single dins:

I'm wanting to get the Alpine CDE-113BTHAL:
    http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_165474

When I looked in the manual for the Alphine the dimensions are:

    Chassie Size:
    Width: 178mm
    Height: 50mm
    Depth: 161mm

    Nosepiece Size:
    Width: 170mm
    Height: 46mm
    Depth: 25mm

I just don't know if it will fit and what else I will need for the job. If someone could give me some advice that would be fantastic.

    Any comments greatly appreciated.

    welcome to the forums!!

i should warn you, these forums are primarily for installing computers in cars, so many times, car audio specific questions take a while to get a answer..

but i should be able to help you.

it appears that the parts you linked to are correct for what you would like to do. just don't forget the wiring harness to connect the new radio!

As someone who works in IT having a computer in my car is my ideal goal but small baby steps

Thanks for the advice. I was kinda worried that they wouldn't fit as the dimensions for the bezel was a bit bigger then the head unit...I take it they will still fit?

they should still fit fine-- the din standard is pretty strict, so as long as both units apply to the standard, you shouldn't have any issues..
