  • In Car Communication and Entertainment system

    Good evening,

I am looking for advice on my planned build; the following list of hardware is not meant to be an exhaustive list of what will be installed.

    Amateur Radio Equipment:
Icom ID-880H dual band mobile transceiver
Yaesu FT-857D multi band multi mode transceiver
    Internet Labs DV Dongle
    Antennas needed for above transceivers

    Computer and networking hardware:
Linksys WRT54G V8 Wireless Router (with DD-WRT firmware)
Linksys E2500 Wireless Router (with DD-WRT firmware)
    Acer AP-1000 minicomputer
DirectFit Double DIN touchscreen for 2002-2009 Chevy Trailblazer
Morex Bundle (no OS version with 160 laptop HD)
    OBDLink MX Scantool
    BU-353-SA GPS
USB-SA Andrea External USB sound card Superbeam Microphone bundle

What I am wanting to do is to use one or the other of the PCs as the main audio source (multiple inputs and outputs) and have the second unit act as a file server for the entire system. The speaker outputs from the two radios mentioned, in addition to the DV-Dongle (for streaming Amateur RAdio Digital Voice over the Internet) and a Bluetooth connection to my Android Smartphone, will be routed to specific speakers in the stock locations (Cellphone and DV audio will be to speakers mounted behind the monitor) and will be intended to override any music that might be playing when they are actively receiving.
