    What size fuse should I use between my battery and dc power supply?

  • #2
    depends...

    What power supply will you be using? Look in the manual for it to determine the amperage needed. That will also be a consideration as to what size wire to run.

    See the FAQ's, specifically this one:

      I am using a OPUS 250W/320W Intelligent DC-DC PSU, but nowhere in the supplied literature does it state the amperage.

        P = V x I
        [Watts] = [Volts] x [Amps]

          Thanks for all the input. The answer I came up with was 15 amp. Does that sound correct?

            250W is 20A and 320W is 27A. You dont have a 250W/320W you have one or the other.

            And usually you take 115% of the value.

                The description is for both. But when you order, there is a dropdown for the 320W for additional money. Obviously you dont pay the same price for more wattage. You should know what you buy.
