  • Startup fails

    Hey guys,

I've been a long time lurker of the site, and I finally have a working car pc in my 1996 Buick Regal. I've made it this far only through reading your posts, so I really appreciate it. It isn't even close to being done though.

I am running into an issue involving the OPUS 250W.

I have a Dell Optiplex GX260 in the trunk wired to the opus, wired to the ignition (I actually used the wiper fuse). The PC will shut down gracefully when ignition is turned off. But it will not start up. The OPUS LED blinks twice, indicating a startup failure. If I set the BIOS to boot as soon as it receives power it works fine, but this doesnt seem proper.

Is there any reasonable explaination for the startup to fail. I know the wires are correct because shut down works nicely (if a little slow). Nothing worked when I reversed polarity.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

I'm going to bump my own post. It was never on the top due to the time issues last week.

Ahaha I joined during the time issues too, so it says i joined in 2001!

Good timing! You look like an old-timer!
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
