I have an external usb dvdRW that I want to use as my main cd player, can the secondary 12v output off the rear be used to connect the external hard drive plug?

any input would be cool thanks

Yes the carnetix 1900 offers a secondary 12v output you could wire to an external 12V drive. You probably want to jumper it to come on/off with the PC.

You could also use PC Hard drive/CD power supply (12V/gnd from molex)

Don't most external DVD drives use +5V?
