  • M4 ATX problems and questions

hi, I'm a noob and I have the M4 installed in my car wich was fine until my batter went out. the battery is old and I dont think it was the M4's fault, I was using the pc without the engine running since I was still hooking everything up, but now the problem is after I repalced my battery the M4 started acting funny, it turns the pc on then within about 5-15 sec it turns off. Is there something I need to do since I replaced my battery or did my M4 go south. like I said everything was fine, it turned on and off as advertised. I have the dip switches on the recommended settings. I see the green led flash and power and ground plus the ignition switch is fine. any help will be great. i emailed mini box but I'm affraid it will be a while till they get back to me and the silence in my car is driving me nuts.

Have you tried doing a factory reset? Put a jumper on JP1, and power it on for 2 seconds or longer. Once the light flashes, take it off, and power it on.

not a factory reset yet. I was kinda lost on what to do so I unpluged the battery from the m4 to do the factory reset then I thought I'm gonna try one more it one more time. So after about an hour or so I connected it back and it worked ok so far. hopefully that fixes it. if not then the factory reset will be the next route. thanks

ok... that didnt last very long, so let me get this right before i fry this doing the reset.
-jump J1 and turn it on (meaning applying power to the switch? constant 12v and ground applied?)
-then it flashes and I turn it off.
        thanks
