    how does one power external devices?

    am I splicing into the 20 pin connector?

    not seeing in the manual where I tap for 12V (monitor) and where I tap for 5V (usb hub)

    help this newbie please

    u can try the molex, it supplies both voltages you seek, just make sure your PSU has sufficient power...

      ahh ok that makes sense. so the red and yellow are the two voltages I assume. will just have to test with the multimeter to see which is which.

        Or just do some searching around. This information is readily available on these forums, as well as hardware-oriented tech sites.
        Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

          I have m2-atx and the same motherborad (twin to build 2 carputer). I bougth a multifunction wire from cartft (power, usb, audio ecc.) for my lcd and it is connected to psu molex. I have problem in starting MB (see my post in the appropriate section) with j8 cable. Can you post me your exact connection schema in order to verify where is my mistake?
