  • M3-atx won't start!!

Okay, i've previously bougt a M3-ATX and it worked just fine, unstil i reversed the polarity on a test battery and it suddenlty could not start. So now i bougt a NEW M3-ATX and maked sure NOT to reverse the polarity, and guess what, this peice of crap won't run either.

I've connected the M3-ATX to the MB with a PSU power cable converter from 20 to 24 pins, also to get it to fit as the M3-ATX did not fit on the MB because of the RAM!?
The wire to the MB Power On/Off is in. NO jumpers is on, so it shoud function as a normal PSU. When i put the plus and minus on the 12V batteri, the MB LED turns on and the PC tries to start. But all that happens is that the fan barly starts to turn, no screen image, and then the intire system totally shuts off and then turns on again repeating that forever.

When the MB Power On/Off is NOT plugged into the MB from the PSU and battery on, the MB LED is on as it should and the green LED on the PSU is flashing slowly. Manuel saids this means thats its waiting for MB to start. If i manually tries to turn on the MB, the same happens.

WTF is going on!? i'm pretty fu**** tired of the very expensive piece of sh't is not working!

Sorry for my language, but OMG this is frustrating as hell! Please help or i WILL make sure mini-box will pay for this!

When you reversed the polarity on your original M3, you could have damaged the motherboard.
Can you power it using a standard ATX PSU?
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

You may have a defective M3, but that's your first defect.
And if so, I'd expect its warranty will cover it.

I presume the MB works as normal on another supply? (ie, no MB damage from previous M3 zapping)
And that all connections are clean & solid?

Hopefully others can offer specific suggestions.

Yes the MB works just fine with a normal PSU.

i think you killed it.. psu's normally don't like being hooked up backwards.

And no this is not user error. All i did was connect it to the MB and the correct polarity, and all this peice of crap is doing is making some LEDs flash and my fan turn 5 mm!

And all the crap you read about the M4-ATX, i seriously think this hardware was made by someone who has no clue what so ever how to mix togehter a ******* simple thing as a POWER SUPPLY!!!

do you have another motherboard to test the m3 with?

otherwise, try shorting the power-on pins on the 20 pin connection, and see if it will turn on. if it still doesn't work, it is possible that you bought a defective unit-- it happens.. not as often as it should with correct QC in place, but it does happen...

It's the same. If i connect a molex 120mm fan and nothing else to the PSU and battery on. When i connect the power pins, the fan just barly starts and then it shuts down and loops that.

                        :/

Well you have a simple warranty issue. Annoying, but mini-box is far from a six-sigma company.

The forum is far from quiet, but maybe this post was because you had your answers in the first 2 replies. (I started mine before DarquePervert's reply.) Not that you knew at the time, but the knowledgeable Soundman seems to have confirmed that.
