  • Power my carPC while the car is off

    Good Morning,
I'm hoping that my searches didn't overlook anything regarding my question

Is there any way to power my carPC while it's in the car, using an extension cord from my house? I'm using an Opus power supply.

Currently I have to have the car running while I upload music and make changes

    Thank you!!

many hook up a battery charger, and that usually takes care of the load(it does for my dsatx, and lower draw psu's)

that was my initial idea, doing so would not harm the battery?

      I really appreciate the help

        no, it should not.

the battery charger should be providing more power then what the carpc takes, and so it should maintain a correct charge in the battery while it is connected(i usually wait until i can't start the car, and then plug the charger in )

If your just sync´ing and/or making quick changes and not really worried about draining the battery there´s always WOL as an option as well depending on the model of opus your running and of course the wireless device used.
Some here do this I think, I haven´t gotten around to it yet myself, but you can then power it for a set amount of time, do what you need to and have it set to shut-down should you forget to do so manually, or for automatic syncing purposes.
