  • Easy 12V Regulator

Suppose this would work for the power supply contained in the popular Castronic cases?

Input Voltage 11 to 16 Vdc
    Output Voltage 12 Vdc
    Output Current 4.5 amps (max)!ORDERID!/aaa/VS1245-867/dbx_gen_detail_product

Umm, im not an EE person.. but this is what i found:

"You can convert amps to watts by multiplying amps x 120 volts. Therefore, a 6-amp vacuum cleaner draws about 720 watts. If you use the vacuum five hours a month, you would use 3.6 kwh (720 x 5 = 3,600 divided by 1,000 = 3.6 kwh). "

But i'm still not sure how this applies in this case? I dont think it would generate 500W now would it? Maybe someone who is more versed in this stuff can help us out?

Yes volts times amps = watts.

      So 12vdc*4.5A=54 watts.

Maybe that is good enough for you, but not for my PW-70 which uses 70watts, and needs about 6 Amps input at 12vdc.
