    Hi Guys,

    I received an OPUS 150W supply for use with the Via M10000/Liliput, and have been thinking of the best and cleanest way of connecting it to my '01 Toyota Sequoia's electrical system. There is a 30A fuse for the door lock system. I found a fuse tap insert that can plug into that fuse connection, and accept the fuse that it displaces, then provides another fused crimp connector going out for accessory. For the ACC line connection to the OPUS, can I just use the Cigarette fuse the same way I get +12VDC? Any suggestions on ground?

    Look for some bolts/nuts on the metal frame of your car. There are plenty of them. Make sure to sand down the surface where the grounding cable will go so that you get a good connection. Plan to have more devices connected to this spot in the future.

      Thanks. So as far as you know, the Cigarette power signal is equilavent to ACC?

          By domestic, you mean non offshore label? I believe all toyotas are now made here, except the land cruiser, which is now branded a lexus. Cant get anybody at Toyota to verify this. Dealer wont allow me to talk to techs, Toyota's support doesnt know.

            Toyota is not considered domestic.

            Celica is made in Iwate, Japan, only the best factory in the world.
            I believe, major parts in Toyota cars are still made in Japan. There are also factories in Canada.

            All Lexus vehicles are made in Japan. There was a word on RX330 being assembled in the USA, but I am not sure if it ever became a reality.

              Cigarette power is link to ACC on my Domestic Toyota WISH.
              When Cranking, power wasn't supplied to the cigarette lighter socket.

                What kind of power are you draining from the cig ligher socket?
                If it is used to turn on as a "remote" wire with low current consumpiton, you may want to put a diode inline and a capacitor afterwards.

                  According to the elec diagrams for my Toyota Sequoia, and asking people around their service dept, the CIG signal is equilavent to the ACCessory wire. I just have it hooked to the OPUS ACC line. Does the OPUS ACC line actually draw much power beyond a logic input? I'll rig up a diode to put it inline though. My constant 12V comes from the door lock power, which is fused 30A straight off the battery, then through the add-a-circuit adapter through another 7.5A to the OPUS.

                    And this is the behaviour the OPUS is supposed to accomodate for by detecting ACC active, then waiting 10sec and then powering up rite? Only thing now is music will be 10sec off after powerdown. All that trouble for setting up standby and ill be off music timing anyways. Maybe there is a way to script a 10 sec backtrack while playing music in winamp. Not a huge deal, but wanted to really get the car stereo equilavent.

                      Using Cig ligher wire for Opus is OK. There is a 5 sec delay when the car starts, although on this PS it wouldn't make much difference, since it works through cranking too. Nothing special is needed. The turn-on wire consumes very little power. I think it is 30ma, but don't quote me on that.
