  • How much power does OPUS take up?

Does anyone know how much power consumption the 150w OPUS takes up? Basically I'm trying to figure out how long the computer will be able to stay on untill I can't stay my car... I have just a stock battery in my 01' Firebird.

At optimum efficiency (quoted 90% on www.opussolutions.com), I'd guess around 150/0.90 = 166.6W on full load.
Add a bit for efficiency dropping below optimal. 200W should be a conservative guess.

New system at design/prototype stage on BeagleBoard.

      As much as it needs.

The max it will take is 150/12 = 12.5A plus ~10% (as it's about 90% efficient) which is about 13.75A.

Of course, this is if you are running it at full capacity, which I seriously doubt you will be doing.
