  • can i run all this on a 90w opus?

i have a M10000, full size dvd rom, full size hdd, in a 2699 case and i'm wondering if the 90w opus i have is plenty to power it. Im hooking up my lilliput to the car not the opus so i wont need to power that. i know i saw someone on the boards that had a similar setup and still ran a lilliput to their 90w opus and didnt have any problems but im just making sure. thanks for the help

Using the wattage calculator your setup* needs about 68 watts for peak usage (DVD playback), so you should be OK.

    * I assumed a 40mm fan and a couple of USB devices.
    EPoX mATX SocketA w/onboard Geforce4MX / 512MB PC2700 / AthlonXP 1600
    Lilliput / DVDrom / Opus 150W / WD 3.5" 160GB / SB Audigy NX
XP home / Road Runner / iGuidance 4.0

check the requirements on your devices.
I believe the M10K mobo will draw like .86A on 5v and .2A or so on 12v
add up all your power requirements.

such as my laptop hd draws like .80A, my dvd drive (external) pulls 2.0A at 5v..etc.
      Mine needs to be updated.

You should be fine with that setup.

Right now im powering on my 90w.

          M10000
          USB Touchscreen
          USB Remote
          Serial GPS
          Digitalww 7" Screen
          Keyboard
          2.5" Solid State Hard drive
          3.5" 30 gig 7200 RPM hard drive

and sometimes just for fun a slim dvd drive with IDE to usb adapter.

I havent really run into any power issues. It will sometimes restart with the dvd drive but i think its more cause of the way its wired than actual too much power being taken up.

are you using one of those 704mb solid state hdds? if so, are you using it for your OS, and how fast is it booting up?

On this calculator there is not room for ram, is that included someplace in the calculation?
