  • No power output on Opus

We did the install on my PC today, ran all the wires and hooked up the Opus 90W per the diagram. It seems to be getting power in fine (as shown on a volt meter), but doesn't power up the machine. Did a test on the pins on the output, and seems to be none to very little voltage going out. Any ideas?

Last resort is running an inverter tomorrow, but I was so looking forward to running it from the Opus.

What does the green light on the OPUS do? The flash codes should tell you what's wrong with it.

didn't see them doing anything. that's the problem. think we might have figured it out with something I found in another thread (switching the power switch cable so green is on the other side). gonna try it tomorrow morning and see if that works. I'm hoping that's the problem.....

otherwise, it's back to the drawing board.

I'm not sure about the 90W, but on the 150W there is a flashing LED on the Opus itself. It flashes to give you status. As long as you have the +12v and ground hooked up, the LED should light up.

We inverted the power switch wire and it fired right up. Sound from the Audigy2 is going through an Alpine 360W 4chan amp and 4 alpine speakers. Sounds really nice, but I need to find a way to get some more bass into the sound.

Thanks for all the tips guys.

Glad it worked out. The diagnostic LEDs are really handy.

Yeah, now I just need to read up on Hibernation mode vs Standby vs Shutdown. All in all though, I am very happy with the system.
