  • How well will a carputer handle a sudden extended voltage drop?

I will be using my carputer in my Jeep for GPS location when i go four wheeling. However, when I have to use the winch in my Jeep, which can (if I rememebr correctly) draw over 400 amps when fully loaded up. I currently have a 120 amp alt, and a deep cycle battery. But still the voltage drops below 9.

How will the computer, which will be running off an inverter and a lilliput LCD handle this? should i hibernate the pc before i do this?

Check the specs on the inverter, it probably has an input operating range that will tell you exactly what it will tolerate. 9 volts is more then likely too low. The same thing applies to the lilliput, however, there probably won't be any damage done to it, it will just turn off by itself.
