  • Call me stupid....Basic opus instalation questions

    Finally got all i need to install my incar PC

    I ordered and opus and it comes with no paperwork whatsoever and there website has only basic descriptions....

    Im sure i could guess and get it right, but i dont think its smart to take a chance of blowing up a $200 PS and $700 worth of computer when i could just ask.

    How do you wire it?
    -Red wire? Power? I search and found this obviously is wired to the battery with a 30a fuse
    -Yellow wire? is this the ignition wire? OR is this the power wire?
    -Black im pretty sure is ground, and i can figure where that goes

    Now it came with some jumpers, i assume these are to controll the shut down timer...where do they go?

    Anyother tips for installing this please feel free to add. or possibly a link to the setup instructions

    btw...i ed

    Red wire = power
    Yellow wire = Accessory (so it knows when your car is turned on/off.
    Black = Ground
    Jumper is for the shutdown controller. If you want to put that on you have to open up the power supply and there is a place to put the jumper. With the jumper off it will shut down after 10 seconds (default).

    Tip: if you have an Amp that is already wired to the battery, acc., ground, you can just tap into that.
    There is a manual in PDF format that you can get. Search the forums for it. I know several people have posted a link to it. I just don't have time to look right now. Good luck!

      The OPUS I have here has Red, Black and Blue input wires.

      Red = Power (Constant)
      Black = Ground
      Blue = Ignition (Switched Power)

      If they have change the blue to yellow, it should be the same.

      Email me and I will send you a PDF copy of the instructions.

      BTW is it a 90W or 150W OPUS?? Just to make sure I send the right copy.
