  • 2003 Accord power supply help!!!

I need some help with powering my PC to my car. Has anyone done a 03 accord? I need to know what would be the best way of bringing power my pc and the Xenarc. I will put the pc in the trunk. Is there a diagram out there? What wires can I use going into the ignition? What all do I need for this process. Or do I have to go through the firewall to get to the car battery to get my power.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Your best bet: Use the function to see what other users have done. I don't know if there's an '03 Accord, but I know for a fact there are other users with systems in Hondas.

As far as power, there are two schools of thought:

Use a standard AC-DC power supply (any PC you buy will already have one) and a power inverter.
    Pros: Cheap and readily available
Cons: Inefficent, may not survive crank

Use a DC-DC ATX-spec power supply. The two most common are from Opus or the Maestro Sproggy.
Pros: Efficient, survices crank, auto-on/off with ignition
    Cons: Expensive.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

I do have a Opus 90W that I plan on using. But what is all that I need to buy and should I get power from the ignition or the battery itself. How do I get the cable throught the firewall?

Probably want to pick up and amp installation kit to run the power to the trunk-I'll give you a fuse and heavier (4 or 8 guage wire and connectors). Most firewalls will have a rubber grommet that you can use to run your wire into the cab. Another route to get power into the trunk is to run it under the car and find a way to get it into the trunk towards the back of the car. Don't know about Opus specifics, but I'm guessing you'd run a heavier guage constant power and a lighter guage switch/accessory wire to the Opus.

You can run a ACC line from the fusebox.

I have a 99 accord there is an area below the driver's dash where cables can be run though from the battery. I'm assuming a 7th generation accord wouldn't be much different. Also, honda are awesome for routing wires, everything pops off easily.
