  • ITPS doesnt give a kick

    I just got my ITPS delivered today and i tried to connect it to a 220v invertor to test the mobo at home. Just connected it properly: Black to the - (ground), red and white to the + (ign and unswitched). It gives a stable 14,2v but the specs say that it can handle up to 6A @ 17v, but it doesnt do a thing! I connected the mobo and PW70 on it too but i wont power on at all.

    Anyone suggestions what i can check?

    The more I read about problems with ITPS not working and inverters making noise etc. the more glad I am that I invested that little bit more in a product that was actually designed and built for in car use.

    Sorry that doesn't help, I have no idea what your problem is.

      be more specific with how you hooked it up, and what the problem is

        I have a inverter 220 -> 14,8 volts

        I connected the Red and White wire of the ITPS to the + of the Inverter
        The black ITPS wire to the - of the inverter

        Then the Red wire of the ITPS to the White wire of the PW70
        The black ITPS wire to the black wire of the PW70

        Clicked the PW70 on the motherboard

        Connected the motherboard connection of the ITPS on the Motherboard.

        If i switch the inverter on it gives a 14,8 signal to the ITPS but thats it. The output of the ITPS is 0 and even after a few secs when i should switch on nothing happends...

          Does your PW70 work without the ITPS?

          your inverter might not switch on if it has a high inrush current on power up...

            the only thing i can think of is connect the power wires, wait a little, and then connect the ignition wire (ii'm not sure if ignition is red or white, it seams like it should be white to me but my memory tells me i read somwhere that ignition was red and 12v was white)

              I cant test that because im not sure if it will survive 14,8 volt...
