  • Newbie here (sorry) help- thx

wait if i order an ITX from like... ebay.

the power plug is the 3 prong socket we use at home.

so do i buy a converter for that so it can go into the cigareette plug of my car?

also does that mean i have to wait for it to shut down everytime before i turn off my car?

or do you guys hook the stuff directly to your batt or something?

also..... my lilliput is going to go into my cigarette plug, so where do i put my ITX?

some of you are just rolling your eyes like "What a fagget newb" im sorry. once i get deeper into this ill try not to be a pain right up the

If you get a Mini ITX case, then it will (very likely) come with a 55W PSU inside, which requires 12V input (which you hook up to your home supply via a "power brick" which converts 110v AC to 12v DC)

If so, then you can use the Carnetix CNX-P1260 to power this case, and also deal with turning it on/off, so all you have to do is start/stop your car as you normally do with any other audio equipment

With the Carnetix CNX-P1260 (and the Opus), you don't have to TOUCH the computer to turn it on or off. All you need to do is turn the car on and off with the key, and the computer will automatically start up and shut down.

You don't need to wait or do anything, just walk away from the car.

and by "what" does it go into that cnx-p1260..... 3 prong? cig plug? what goes IN to it, and im gonna assume bare wires come out the other end. and would you store that thing in the car or in the hood?

            thanks

opus is the same thing...but more expensive...i recomend you search around...all the answers are here

3 wires go into the dcdc regulator/sequencer box (opus or whatever the other one is called) and then out of that come a batch of wires taht easily hook into the motherboard (everyting is almost plug and play).

the 3 wires going in are: battery(always connected to + of batt), ground(connected to chassy-any metal part- of the car body) , and ACC (like the lighter +/positive wire only sends a signal when the key is in).

its quite simple...search read learn...have quesions? search more..all is here

oooooh i like your style of explaining.... you make it seem like legos.

                  thanks! =)

what do you think of this?
                  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...716622936&rd=1

isnt it like the opus or regulartor sequencer that you're talking about?

except is this a good one? (for its price?) is it all i need (what i need?) does it do the same? (from motherboard to battery)

                  thanks

                      No, no and no.

Get either the Carnetix, or an Opus.

The others will cause you nothing but problems, because they won't work properly.

Hey sorry i been gone for a while..I was actually getting some investor interested in my caroc business!
                            back to you:

                            Why do those suck:
when you start the car, its called "cranking", the power drops to ~7v which makes the carputer REBOOT- its a *****.

trust everyone here carnext[whatever its called] or an opus work good for 3 things:
                            1. they turn computer on/off for you! great option - dont forget to set the settings in windows to HIBERNATE the carputer once the off button is pressed- this way you can return to the same video or song or function you were doing when you took the key out. - search 'opus' in this forum to find more info on that.
                            2. Regualtes power..so it survives the crank
                            3. if your batery is getting low, it cuts the power..so no worries at all.
                            ORDERING:
                            ONLY FROM Mp3car.com store! http://www.mp3car.com/store/
there is a link for carnext here somewhere but whatever..support mp3car.com..it has blassed us..esspecailly me- i have a new business and a new hobby(NO MORE VIDEO GAMES and JAVA AND C++ flash, dreamweaver, and more video games every night !!! )
