  • help with ps

I am wanting to install my old desktop pc into my 1996 chevy. It is an hp with an amd 1ghz processor. My question is, would i be able to run one of those dc-dc power supplies, or should i just get an inverter and run the original power supply.

Thanks in advance for all of your comments. Please let me know if you need any more info. This is a great site

as long as the HP has a standard ATX PSU connector on the mobo.. you can run a dc-dc PSU. It should.. i just know some big computer companies like dell.. like to put out a modied form factor to meet their needs

the opus is really the way to go. that can work but the problem is they aren't very well regulated on low/high voltages. the opus is made for in-car use.

I don't have any experience with those PW-... 200w ... etc power supplies but I wouldn't suggest it. Pony up the $150, 200 and get the opus straight up.
              Mine needs to be updated.
