  • Is this too much for an Opus 90W?

Please let me know if this will cause trouble on an Opus 90W. I am not expecting you to calculate exact figures, I just need your opinion. I'm trying to steer clear of an Opus 150W, as they are bigger, cost more, and produce more heat.

    Motherboard components
    • VIA EPIA MII 1.2ghz
    • 802.11G Cardbus
    • 120GB 3.5" IDE
    • 5.25" DVDROM
    • Lilliput 7" (powered through psu)
    • 60MM exhaust fan
    Accessories
    • USB GPS
    • USB radioSHARK
    • USB Lilliput
    • USB Hub (Keyboard, Card Reader... ?)
    • SERIAL OBD-II

You might want to consider a slim optic drive, instead of the 5.25 one. It draws less power. Otherwise, I don't see any reason why it shoudn't work.

What scares me the most is the Lilliput actually being powered by the PSU. I can't find another practical solution to powering it though.

What's so scary about that? The Lilliput doesn't draw much current.

You can power the lilliput using an off the shelf 12v supply from radioshack.

Many on this board have their screen powered by their PSU, it's not a problem. In the case of a Lilli, you might want to consider that too, 'cause it doesn't have automatic turn on, so powering it from the Opus means when you turn on the pc the Lilli turns it self on. Better thatn using the remote or the trasitional power button. I have an Opus 150W PSU and a mm400 screen, which I'll power from the Opus.

My only concern was that all those components exceeded the max output for an Opus 90W.
