  • Polarity of Power switch on Opus/Mainboard

Hi, I have been told it matters which way round the cable coming from the OPUS going to the mainboard is plugged in on the M/B.

How can this be the case? surely the header on the motherboard simply is a switch, when those two pins are shorted the switch is 'on' and when they are not it is 'off'.

How/why does it matter which way around you connect it ?

    (curiosity!)

because when you connect the header to the opus it uses a transistor instead of a normal pushbutton type switch
