  • ECS P4VMM2 and OPUS 150W

Do you think the OPUS150W DC psu would work with the ECS P4VMM2 (v5) mobo?

    http://www.ecsusa.com/products/p4vmm2_v5.html

I have this spare mobo and before I commit into buying an opus I want to figure out which route to take (VIA EPIA) or P4-power!

Also, what could the max CPU power an opus could drive? P4 2.0ghz? AMD 2000+?

XBOY...I do not recommend the ECS motherboards. I work for a company where about 2 years ago that is what the owener used to build whitebox computer systems, and had nothing but trouble with different models. So you may want to avoid a headache at the early stage. However that is just my opinion/expeirence.

      You need a power calculator.
Search the forums to find one.

Most P4s are going to suck too much juice for an Opus.

And I have to agree on ECS shaky quality. I've seen too many of them with problems.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
      How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Anyone else concur? I've searched the forums here and have noticed there are a few references of this board used in action with an OPUS150??

ECS motherboards are the devil, one of my customer purchased 10 machines with ECS mobos. the seller had to come out and switch every one of them out.

I had the dreaded ECS fiasco about a year ago. I just said screw it and bought the abit mobo using the CPU from the Fry's CPU/ECS 'deal' (sometimes the deal is cheaper thant he CPU by itself!!). It was a REAL cheap deal at fry's with CPU and mobo. Did anyone ever notice in the Fry's ad they do not put the mobo brand if it is an ECS??? B4 they would always put the brand!!! I also saw myriad green ECS boxes to be returned, and the bummer was that the ECS operated for about 4 months before it hosed!!!!
