  • would this blow my fuse quickly?

i will have 2 amps in my system, totaling 100amps draw. if i used a 100amp fuse to power the amps, plus the opus and my dsp unit (3amp), would that blow right away? problem is, there is no 125amp or similar ANL fuse- if it would cause a problem, i'd have to run a 2nd 12v line to the trunk just for the carputer/dsp.

probably not......i've got an amp that was supposadly pulling 65 amps, had it fused with a 50 and had my opus on there there too....worked fine

100 Amps at 12 Volts = 1.2 KW of power. I doubt that you'll ever really pull that much juice, even on the loudest of bass booms. The voice coil in your speakers are not wound with #4 cable. I think most car audio amps are spec'd based on what they theoretically can deliver, and not on actual load testing. Just my opinion.
