    hi, i need combo cdrw drive but my PC is in the trunk, and i need the cd drive infront in box near stering wheel. But what about power? i have m1-atx and 120GB 7200rpm full size 3.5" HDD..? need slim notebook drive? and some ext. usb box? but the stuf like this http://alzasoft.cz/DetailPage.asp?DP...CatId=18843372 need 220V AC ..

    I will be happy in case i can use standart 3.5drive with usb box

    And I have one free DC-DC 10.6-28V 80W powersuply.. but it doesnt survive crank.. it is possible power the standart 3.5 CD drive in external usb2.0 box by this PS? every cranking will 'reconect' the usb drive from pc?

        i will setup the ps like on this page: http://www.virtual-hideout.net/guide...ds/index.shtml and i will be power the PS only when the m1-atx will run.. and i will have much power from this PS.. do you understand me?

          thanatos106: the Ultra Slim External Enclosure USB has "External Universal AC Adapter 5V at 2A " .. this will be power m1-atx?

            uhmm. unless you have some sort of voltage regulation AFTER the USB port, I would NOT suggest trying to reconnect auto the USB drive. Depending on the quality of the ps you are using, the initial burst of electricity after starting the car may be too much for your external usb device. You might fry either the externally connected drive or the usb ports themselves. I've noticed this so many times with just a simple usb flash drive plugged into the port. Upon firing you get a notification of the power surge on the port (taskbar icon beside system clock) - and ending with a fried or corrupted data on the usb drive
