Input min = Output +2V ... kind of limits its usefulness 12V regulator in a car. Looks promising for 5V stuff.

Looks like you dont know much about vehicle power, your voltage when the engine is running is usually 13.5V-18V..
Besides most LCDs have a high tolerance on lower voltage, so if you have 12V input you'd probably have an output around 11V. Which is more than enough to run it.

actually looks like he knows more than you:

when youa re cranking the voltage dropes below 12V so if you use this to power and extra HDD then it will go off during crank which will mess up your system. Also, if you use it to solely power your screen then the damn TS controlelr is powered byt the screen so will go off too causing you the annoying unplugged/new hardware noise unless you do the USB power mod.

Where did you come from? Did I say anything about any HDDs? Who in the right mind would power an HDD with this? You out of your mind? Plus are you trying to say you will be using your TS while cranking? lol
Try to say something that makes sense next time.

                      idioten...
You guys are right, this is a great reason not to buy this PSU.
"Because you cant use the touchscreen while cranking" omg...

BTW. WTF is a new hardware noise? (ever heard of sound options?)

oh for god sake think about it!

Do you really want the little box saying "USB device unplugged" and the little bings that sound when you plug something in or remove it everytime you crank?

Please feal free to come back when you've had a good nights sleap.

Besides, if you got anyting over 14-14.5 volts when your car is running then your voltage regulator is broken.

Exactly! I would use my screen while cranking. Save time by choosing your tunes while cranking. Get the Bullit theme going for those quick trips down to the shops.

well the whole screen would go off anyway!

Then you have a problem, my OPUS can take up to 30V.
